Track details¶

The Acrobat DC product family introduces two tracks for both Acrobat and Reader which are essentially different products: 'Classic' and 'Continuous.' Most end users will install the Continuous track provided from the Reader Download Center. Enterprise organizations will user either the Classic or Continuous track. • AppV scripts and guidelines have been released for both Acrobat and Reader.
• An AcrobatCleaner for DC products has been posted on LABs. Use this tool to do a clean uninstall.
• ADM starter templates have been released.
• SCUP catalogs are updated.
• A new APTEE tool version (9.0.0.2) is released and available from the Licensing Web Site.
• Some services can now be disable and enabled from the Enterprise Dashboard.
• 11.x and DC products can now coexist on the same machine. In the past, two versions of Acrobat or Reader could not reside on the same machine.
• The conversion from a trial version to the classic now occurs inside the product as described in https://helpx.stage.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/convert-from-trial-to-classic.html.
• Signature profile and appearance synchronization now occurs across all devices and the web. Non digital signature appearances (those associated with Adobe eSign (EchoSign) are synchronized between eSign, Fill & Sign on the web, mobile apps, and the desktop. Signatures or initials created in eSign will now be available in Fill & Sign, and vice versa. When the application detects signatures saved in different apps, users are asked which one should be retained.
• A new preference allows admins to disable scanned document editing would be disabled in Acrobat. See DisableScannedDocumentEditing in the Preference Reference.
• Disabling upsell is now possible for users with volume licenses.

Adobe Reader is the most popular program in the world for viewing, creating, managing and manipulating PDF (Portable Document Format) files. It is the standard that all other PDF readers are judged against. Publically released in 1993, Adobe Reader was originally priced at $50 per user before Adobe separated its product range to offer Adobe Reader freeware and their professional Adobe Acrobat versions. PDF became the file format of choice for businesses thanks to its cross platform flexibility and security capabilities.

Simple UI

Adobe Reader's UI is simple and intuitive. Classic tools (text selection, zoom, snapshots, find, etc.) can be accessed from the top navigation menu and buttons. The latest version also includes advanced Tools (create, export, send and store options), Sign and Comment features. You can share iterations, comments and signatures by email or using the Adobe SendNow service.
